                          3105 Aluminum Coil

                           SHARE

3105 aluminum coil is one of the fastest-growing alloy grades within the aluminum-manganese family. Building upon the 3003 alloy, it incorporates 0.30%–0.80% magnesium to achieve enhanced strength and corrosion resistance. As a specialized manufacturer and exporter, HC Aluminum offers a full range of 3105 coils in H14, H24, H26, and H18 tempers. Specifications include thicknesses from 0.15mm to 3.0mm and customizable widths from 100mm to 1600mm; coils feature inner diameters of 508mm or 610mm and weights ranging from 1 to 5 tons. Manufactured in strict accordance with ASTM B209 and EN 485 standards, every batch comes with comprehensive material certification and third-party inspection reports, making them suitable for direct integration into high-speed forming production lines across sectors such as construction, lighting, transportation, and home appliances.

The chemical composition of the 3105 alloy is as follows: Aluminum (balance), Manganese 0.30%–0.80%, Magnesium 0.30%–0.80%, Iron ≤0.70%, Silicon ≤0.60%, Copper ≤0.30%, Zinc ≤0.40%, and Chromium ≤0.20%. This formulation allows the 3105 alloy to combine the rust-resistant qualities typical of the 3000 series with strength characteristics akin to the 5000 series. In the H24 temper, the alloy exhibits a tensile strength of 170–225 MPa, a yield strength of ≥125 MPa, and an elongation of ≥6%; in the H18 temper, tensile strength reaches 240–290 MPa. Compared to the 3003-H24 alloy, the 3105-H24 offers a yield strength increase of approximately 25%, providing superior sheet rigidity and significantly enhanced resistance to denting and wind loads at the same thickness. Years of industry observation reveal that roofing and gutter projects in North America and Australia have been rapidly shifting from 3003 aluminum coil to 3105 alloy. The primary reason is that the latter exhibits less deformation under wind and snow loads and offers lower lifecycle maintenance costs.

HC Aluminum's 3105 aluminum coils are produced to clear, quantifiable precision standards. Thickness tolerance is controlled within 70% of the national standard, with precision grades reaching ±0.01mm. Flatness is ≤1.2mm/m, coil telescoping is ≤3mm, and side camber is ≤2mm/m, making the material suitable for high-speed automated processes such as slitting, stamping, roll forming, and profile rolling. Surfaces are available in mill finish or with PE protective film; surface roughness (Ra) is ≤0.8μm, free from visible rolling oil stains or oxidation discoloration, allowing for direct pretreatment for spraying, anodizing, or coil coating. Annealing is performed uniformly in batches using bell-type furnaces; hardness variation within a coil is ≤HV5. This ensures consistent mechanical properties throughout the coil, eliminating the need to adjust stamping parameters from start to finish and effectively reducing scrap rates.

Building envelope systems represent the largest application area for 3105 aluminum coils. Due to its balanced formability and rigidity, 3105-H24 aluminum coil is widely used for components such as roofing and wall panels, flashing, eaves troughs, gutters, and ridge caps—making it particularly suitable for coastal areas with high salt-spray exposure and cold, snowy regions. In the lighting industry, 3105-H18 aluminum coils are used for LED heat-dissipating housings and reflectors; the material offers a thermal conductivity of approximately 160W/(m·K) and significant lightweighting advantages. Transportation applications include interior liners for refrigerated truck bodies, train interior panels, and automotive weatherstrip skeletons. In the home appliance sector, it is used for air conditioner exterior panels, washing machine panels, and cookware substrates. HVAC ventilation ducting is another key market for 3105 alloy; it offers superior rust resistance compared to galvanized steel and weighs only one-third as much.

In terms of procurement costs, the price per ton of 3105 aluminum coil is only about 8%–12% higher than that of 3003. However, because it allows for a reduction in gauge thickness while still meeting mechanical requirements for structural components, the overall material cost actually decreases. HC Aluminum offers precise customization of slit widths (with a tolerance of ±0.3mm), eliminating material loss from secondary slitting. Standard specifications are delivered within 7–10 days, while urgent orders can be shipped in 3–5 days. With a monthly production capacity of 8,000 tons, we handle full-container loads and long-term framework agreements, supporting various trade terms (FOB, CIF, EXW) and providing complete export customs documentation.
